There are two ways to deal with a ton of Mussel Shells in Dwarf Fortress. First, you can use them at Craftsdwarf's workshop to make armor, jewelry, and other such Shellcrafts—which, in turn, you can use or trade at different places. Other than that, you can make a Dumping Zone near a volcano and dump the extra Mussel Shells.

1 Answer Sorted by: 2 When you don't have a prison, its kind of important to make sure that your sheriff or captain of the guard doesn't have ridiculous strength. When you don't have a prison, justice is handed out in the form of beatings and he may kill/severely wound dwarfs for trivial crimes.
